PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) through its Emergency Response Team (ERT) held a training on the Use of APAR (Light Fire Extinguishers) in the UG Kencana work area on April 4, 2023. This activity was attended by around 30 employees from all elements of the UG Kencana Department as a refresher in using fire extinguishers correctly and appropriately. This training was also a follow-up to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decision No. 1827.K/30/MEM/2018 regarding Emergency Management.

“The purpose of the training is to provide employees with an understanding of the function of APAR. In addition, employees are expected to be able to use APAR correctly and properly to tackle small-scale fires,” said ERT Coordinator, Iwan Panduko.

Rohani Abas Mutalib, the coordinator of the APAR training, expressed appreciation for the participation and enthusiasm of the Kencana employees. “In the future, with regularly scheduled training sessions, it is hoped that all employees will be able to be agile in handling small-scale fire incidents in their respective work areas,” she said.
