Indotan Group Employees Learn “Basic Life Support & First Aid Training” as the First Step for Rescue Action
All workers at the Indotan Group are valued for their sense of empathy and concern for the well-being and safety of others, including PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) through Basic Life Support & First Aid training. This training was held on February 27, 2024, in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Indotan Group Jakarta Office, attended by dozens of employees from across departments.
In collaboration with Mitra Keluarga Kemayoran Hospital, this training presented Ayub Widodo (Nurse) as the speaker. In his presentation, Ayub explained that Basic Life Support & First Aid Training (BHD) knowledge typically given to victims of cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest without using medical equipment. He also practised the steps for carrying out BHD correctly according to health procedures, and he provided opportunities for employees to try the practice. “By mastering BHD, we can save many lives quickly and precisely,” said Ayub.
Indotan Group Health Coordinator, Stevani Evi, conveyed the importance of BHD knowledge in the office environment. “Instilling first aid skills in employees will be very useful if an emergency occurs both in the office environment and in public places. The main key is: don’t panic. We must be calm when faced with an emergency so we can think clearly while implementing first aid procedures,” he said.
Evi also added that the plan is to provide several other training materials and share information about health for Indotan Group Jakarta Office employees. “In the near future, there will be sharing about GERD or stomach acid, because we will soon welcome the month of Ramadan. We also welcome any input and suggestions regarding what other topics we feel need to be presented in this health sharing,” he added.
Meanwhile, Head of HR/Training and GA Indotan Group Yooshy Chandra said that through this training, it is hoped that first aid skills will be distributed evenly to all employees in various work areas of the Indotan Group. “As we know at the Gosowong Gold Mine, one of the mandatory training is first aid. Through this BHD, it becomes a forum for equalizing the ability to provide first aid for employees. In the future, we hope to be able to improve this activity so that it is more formal and certified,” said Yooshy.
