NHM Wins Trophy for Most Consistent Private Mining Company in Implementing OHS at Disway Awards 2024

PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM), the operator of the Gosowong Gold Mine in North Halmahera, North Maluku Province, once again demonstrated its excellence in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). This time, NHM’s consistent commitment to upholding OHS for over two decades of operation was recognized at the 2024 Disway Awards organized by Disway Group. The event took place at Istana Nelayan Resto, Tangerang, on Wednesday, December 18. The recognition was presented in the form of a trophy and a certificate for the Most Consistent Private Mining Company in Implementing OHS, awarded by the editorial team of Disway Group.

The trophy and certificate were presented by Dahlan Iskan, Founder of Disway Group, and accepted by Jeffry Butarbutar, NHM’s Manager of Government Relations & Permitting, who attended on behalf of the management. In his speech, Dahlan expressed his highest appreciation to the award recipients, who were specially selected by the Disway Group team for their contributions to Indonesia’s economic development.

“As part of the media that continuously monitors the growth of Indonesia’s economy, we honor the performance of those who are receiving awards today. You have all worked hard to help revive the Indonesian economy in your respective fields,” he stated. Dahlan also specifically mentioned that NHM, which manages the gold mine with the highest gold content compared to other gold mines in Indonesia, has consistently implemented OHS practices.

The event also invited several key figures, including the newly elected Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, stakeholders, media representatives, journalists, and representatives from various large companies in Indonesia across sectors such as banking, energy, media, and government.

Responding to the award, NHM’s Vice President Director, Amiruddin Hasyim, expressed gratitude for the achievements that NHM continues to reach. “This is one of NHM’s positive milestones at the end of 2024. We have received several awards this year, and receiving an OHS award once again can be seen as the result of hard work from all teams at the Gosowong Gold Mine. NHM will continue to use this recognition as motivation to further enhance OHS, ensuring that the Gosowong Gold Mine remains Healthy, Energetic, and Green, in line with our proud slogan,” Amiruddin concluded.
