OHS Manager of NHM, dr. Kuncoro, has been appointed as a member of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of APKPI for the 2024-2028 term in the field of Occupational Health in Mining
The General Director of Mineral and Coal (Dirjen Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM), Dr. Ing. Tri Winarno, S.T., M.T, officially inaugurated the 71 members of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Mining Safety Professionals Association (APKPI) for the 2024-2028 period at the Residence 8 Ballroom in Jakarta on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Among those appointed was Dr. Kuncoro, who currently serves as the Occupational Health and Safety Manager at PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM), owned by Haji Robert Nitiyudo Wachjo. Dr. Kuncoro has been designated as a member responsible for Research and Development in Occupational Health.
The inauguration was marked by the sound of a gavel and the symbolic pinning of badges by Tri Winarno to the Director of APKPI for the 2024-2028 term, Joko Triraharjo, the Secretary General of APKPI for the same period, Adri Thanada, and the Treasurer of APKPI, Retno Nartani. The existence of APKPI is expected to address concerns and aspirations regarding the realization of mining safety in Indonesia, reflecting good corporate governance. During the 2024-2028 term, the DPP APKPI will manage 11 areas related to mining safety management.
OHS Manager of NHM dr. Kuncoro outlined his role within APKPI. “Our role will generally synergize with the team to enhance performance, manage safety, prevent workplace accidents, occupational diseases, work-related incidents, hazardous events, and promote a culture of occupational health and safety (OHS). Specifically, in my area within the organization for occupational health in mining, we aim to develop research and technology, create guidelines that refer to best practices and implementations, and contribute to the formulation or development of regulations on occupational health in mining. I appreciate the support from management,” he stated.
Meanwhile, representing the management and the NHM family, NHM Vice President Director Amiruddin Hasyim expressed appreciation for Dr. Kuncoro’s achievements in Mining Safety. “One of the 25 founders of APKPI is a representative from NHM. I hope that with the full support of all parties involved, APKPI, through dr. Kuncoro, can become one of the driving forces to minimize and prevent mining accidents or workplace incidents, both on-site and off-the-job safety. Congratulations to Dr. Kuncoro on his appointment as a member of the DPP APKPI 2024-2028 in the field of Occupational Health in Mining. May Dr. Kuncoro’s contributions, along with all management teams and NHM’s internal stakeholders, especially the top management, continue to be vital in achieving the best outcomes for health, safety, and sustainability in the Gosowong Gold Mine environment,” Amir concluded.
