Smooth and Successful, Voting at NHM Earns Praise from Bawaslu Halut
Polling stations (TPS) across Indonesia buzzed with the spirit of democracy today, including the Special Polling Station at the Front Gate Pendopo of PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM). This unique location allowed hundreds of mining company employees to exercise their voting rights during the Simultaneous Regional Elections on November 27, 2024.
From as early as 7:00 WIT, the atmosphere at this TPS was marked by a strong sense of unity and cooperation. With facilities provided by NHM to support employee participation, the voting process proceeded in an orderly and efficient manner. Employees expressed appreciation for the company’s initiative, which enabled them to actively shape the region’s future while remaining in their work environment.
The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of North Halmahera Regency commended all personnel involved in managing the Special TPS. Jenfanher Lahi, Coordinator of the Division for Violations Handling and Dispute Resolution at Bawaslu North Halmahera, expressed gratitude for the smooth execution of the voting process.
“The voting process went safely and smoothly, without significant obstacles. We extend our thanks to the organizers and NHM for facilitating the Regional Election at this Special TPS,” said Lahi, who personally supervised the voting alongside the Gakkumdu Center team.
Alan Duwila, Head of the Special TPS at NHM, reported that out of the 567 registered voters in the Permanent Voter List (DPT), 411 employees cast their votes at this station. The remaining 156 voters participated in the election at other polling locations. He noted that employees who had completed their voting promptly returned to work in accordance with pre-arranged schedules.
“Thanks to NHM’s support, employees were able to exercise their voting rights seamlessly while fulfilling their work duties,” said Alan.
Dodi W. Panudu, Head of the Stakeholder Engagement Division and Coordinator of the Special TPS at NHM Gosowong, conveyed NHM management’s gratitude to the North Halmahera KPU (General Election Commission) and Bawaslu. He acknowledged their cooperation in establishing a Special TPS within the company premises, allowing employees to participate in the election without disrupting their responsibilities.
“We sincerely thank the Halut KPU and its staff, Bawaslu Halut and its staff, the TNI-POLRI (Indonesian National Armed Forces and Police), Linmas, and all parties involved in today’s voting process for ensuring it was conducted smoothly, safely, and in a conducive manner,” said Dodi.
