Voting at NHM’s Special Polling Stations Receives Appreciation from North Halmahera Bawaslu
Polling stations (TPS) across Indonesia were alive with the spirit of democracy on November 27, 2024, including the special polling stations (TPS Loksus) at PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM). Held in the meeting hall near the Front Gate, these stations provided a unique opportunity for hundreds of employees on site to exercise their voting rights during the Simultaneous Regional Elections (Pilkada).
Starting from 7:00 AM WIT, the atmosphere at the TPS was filled with a sense of unity and purpose. NHM facilitated employee participation by providing the necessary facilities, ensuring the voting process was orderly and smooth. Employees expressed their gratitude for the company’s initiative, which allowed them to actively contribute to shaping the future of their region while remaining in their work environment.
The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of North Halmahera Regency commended the efforts of everyone involved in organizing the TPS Loksus. Jenfanher Lahi, Coordinator of the Division for Handling Violations and Dispute Resolution at Bawaslu North Halmahera, expressed his appreciation for the seamless execution of the voting process.
“The voting proceeded safely and efficiently, without any significant issues. We are grateful to the organizers and NHM for facilitating the Pilkada at this special TPS,” said Lahi, who supervised the voting process alongside the Sentra Gakkumdu team.
Alan Duwila, Head of the NHM Polling Organizing Group (KPPS) at the TPS Loksus, reported that out of 567 voters listed in the Permanent Voters List (DPT), 411 employees cast their votes at the special TPS. The remaining 156 voters exercised their voting rights at external polling stations. Alan added that employees who voted promptly returned to work as per the prearranged schedule.
“Employees were able to fulfill their civic duty without interrupting their work commitments. We extend our gratitude to NHM for facilitating this process,” Alan remarked.
Dodi W. Panudu, Head of the Stakeholder Engagement Division and Coordinator of the NHM Gosowong Special TPS, also expressed appreciation on behalf of NHM management. He thanked the North Halmahera General Election Commission (KPU) and Bawaslu for approving the establishment of the special TPS within the NHM area, enabling employees to participate in the elections while continuing their work.
“Thank you to the North Halmahera KPU and its staff, Bawaslu and its team, the TNI-POLRI, Linmas, and all parties involved in today’s voting process for ensuring it ran smoothly”.
