NHM Closes National Occupational Safety and Health Month with Ceremony and Competition

The 2025 National Occupational Safety and Health Month (BK3N) at PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) was officially closed with a ceremony held at the Gosowong soccer field. The event featured the handover of the OHS flag from the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, Era Setiawan (Deputy Manager of the OHS Department), to Rara Dodo Lawolo, the Head of Mining Engineering (KTT)/Deputy Director of Operations. The ceremony was attended by employees representing various departments and NHM’s business partners.

This year’s NHM BK3N celebration followed the national theme, which focuses on “Strengthening Human Resource Capacity in Supporting the Implementation of the Mining Safety Management System (SMKP) to Increase Productivity.”

In his remarks at the closing ceremony, Rara Dodo Lawolo emphasized NHM’s commitment to continuously improving human resources through various initiatives. He highlighted that NHM has achieved national accreditation, receiving Certificate No. 2.STF/HK.02/KA-LDP ESDM from the Accreditation Institution for the Implementation of Education and Training in the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector (KA-LDP ESDM).

With this institutional accreditation, NHM aims to enhance workforce competency while minimizing risks at the Gosowong Gold Mine.

“The objective of BK3N is to raise awareness and compliance with OHS standards, ensure maximum employee protection, enhance OHS implementation, develop highly competent human resources, and encourage participation from all stakeholders in fostering a strong OHS culture,” Rara Dodo Lawolo stated.

Following the ceremony, the committee hosted a first aid competition, with three teams competing. The winners were as follows:

  • 1st Place – Ahmad Pakaya (Supply Department), Eko Y. Arianto (Indodrill), and Teodorus Hariindah (Ore Treatment Department).
  • 2nd Place – Muhammad Faksib Mufsidi (Asset Maintenance Department), Harun M. Noor (Asset Maintenance Department), and Jarbi (Civil Department).
  • 3rd Place – Masdi Gani (Flight Camp Department), M. Agung Yusri (Environment Department), and Rifai Nuang (UG Kencana Department).

Representing the 2025 BK3N committee, Era Setiawan expressed appreciation for the support of all NHM departments, which was instrumental in the success of the event, from the opening ceremony on January 12 to the closing ceremony on February 12, 2025.

During the BK3N period, the committee also organized a blood donation drive in collaboration with the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in North Maluku Province. Held at Two Rivers Bar, the event successfully collected 50 blood bags, which will be distributed to those in need across North Maluku.

Through the 2025 BK3N celebration, NHM reaffirms its commitment to maintaining high OHS standards and continuously developing human resources. These efforts aim to ensure that operations at the Gosowong Gold Mine remain safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible.
