Halmahera Utara Regency Awards NHM for Best Environmental Management
PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) received recognition as the company with the Best Environmental Management in North Halmahera Regency (Halut), coinciding with the commemoration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day at Do’omu Matau Field, Tobelo District, on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Representing NHM at the award ceremony were Dodi S. Panudu and Christian Moloku from the Government Relations & Permitting Department.
The award was presented as an acknowledgment of NHM’s ongoing contributions to environmental management in Halut, including active participation in mangrove planting programs and community waste-cleaning initiatives conducted over the past several years.

Head of the Halut Environmental Agency (DLH), Yudihart Noya, stated that based on monitoring and evaluations conducted by DLH across various industries, including mining operations, NHM was assessed as the company with the best environmental management performance.
“The Halut Government extends its gratitude to NHM for consistently demonstrating care and responsibility in environmental management, both within its mining operations and in surrounding communities,” Yudihart added.
Representing the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department, Widi Wijaya, HSE Manager, emphasized: “This award from the Halmahera Utara Regency Government comes as a breath of fresh air amid the company’s efforts to restore operations to normalcy. It serves as proof that even during a period of recovery, NHM continues to prioritize environmental stewardship by maintaining high standards of environmental management and monitoring.”

“In addition, NHM remains committed to pursuing continuous improvement and sustainability in environmental management, even while implementing efficiency measures. These efforts would not be possible without the dedication of our environmental team, along with strong collaboration and support from management and related departments,” said Widi.
Through this achievement, NHM reaffirms its commitment to implementing sustainable environmental management practices that benefit both the natural ecosystem and the surrounding communities in the mining area.
