PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) took part in the Miners Fun Run 2025, organized by the Indonesian Mining Professionals Association (PERHAPI) North Maluku Chapter, at Landmark Ternate on Sunday, September 28, 2025. The event was held to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Mining and Energy Day of the Republic of Indonesia and was attended by various mining companies operating across North Maluku.

In addition to the running competition, the event also featured the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Community Development & Empowerment (PPM) Expo, which served as a platform for mining companies to showcase their contributions to society. NHM was among the key participants, presenting its achievements through various PPM programs covering multiple sectors, ranging from socio-cultural initiatives, infrastructure development, environmental preservation, education, and healthcare to local economic empowerment.

According to Almun, the Event Committee Chairperson, the presence of the mining industry and its PPM programs in North Maluku has helped strengthen local economic structures through tangible, field-based initiatives. He expressed his highest appreciation to all sponsors, particularly NHM as one of the main sponsors of the event.

“Guided by the PPM Master Plan 2019-2024 and its renewal for 2025-2029, we remain committed to consistently implementing regulations, rehabilitation, and environmental protection efforts. This commitment is reflected through various initiatives, including mangrove conservation in Kao, participation in World Cleanup Day, community farming support using repurposed drums for water storage, scholarship programs for outstanding students, as well as clean water and school transportation projects in several areas around the mining site. These efforts also align with the ongoing production recovery focus at Gosowong in 2024-2025,” explained Irwan Malaka, Head of NHM Peduli’s Sustainable Development Division.

In his remarks, Vice Governor of North Maluku, Sarbin Sehe, encouraged PERHAPI to continue providing an enabling environment for all investors in the province, emphasizing the importance of maintaining operational balance. “With proper governance and collaboration among all parties, we can build a dynamic mining ecosystem that truly benefits the people of North Maluku. Mining for Prosperity!” he said. Sarbin also took the opportunity to visit the NHM booth, accompanied by Irwan Malaka, who presented NHM’s community development contributions and the achievements of its PPM programs.
