NHM Showcases Commitment to Sustainable Mining at Minerba Convex 2025

Amid the growing momentum toward a sustainable mining industry, PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) took part in the Minerba Convention and Exhibition (Minerba Convex) 2025. The event, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal (Ditjen Minerba), was held on October 15–16, 2025, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). It was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, along with key officials. NHM, together with PT Puncakbaru Jayatama (PTPJ), participated as Platinum Sponsors, reaffirming their strong support for the national mining sector.

NHM shared its exhibition booth with PT Puncakbaru Jayatama (PTPJ) and Noor Dinar, all operating under the same parent group. NHM and PTPJ share deep historical ties in the exploration of the Gosowong area in North Halmahera. The Gosowong gold deposit, still one of NHM’s active mining sites today, was discovered through greenfield exploration (exploration in previously unmined or unstudied areas) in Halmahera, which began in 1996 in collaboration with PTPJ. Meanwhile, Noor Dinar showcased its gold coin products, representing downstream results of gold mining activities. Together, their joint booth presented a complete picture of the mining industry from exploration to end products.

“We proudly represent NHM at Minerba Convex as one of Indonesia’s largest gold mining companies, while also bringing PTPJ as part of our long journey. We want to highlight PTPJ’s significant contribution to the discovery of the Gosowong Gold Mine. This moment serves as an opportunity to inform and educate the public and mining stakeholders that NHM continues to operate productively and holds vast business development potential,” said Indra Febrian, NHM’s Director of Business Development.

At the exhibition, NHM showcased a range of infographics and videos that emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable mining practices covering mineral resource management, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility programs for communities surrounding its operations. The well-curated content drew significant attention, attracting hundreds of visitors, particularly mining students, to learn more about Gosowong Mine.

Khalidazia Saleh, Senior Mine Engineer at NHM’s Kencana Underground Mine, noted that NHM’s participation in Minerba Convex was an opportunity to demonstrate how sustainable mining practices can go hand in hand with social responsibility and environmental preservation, reflecting NHM’s spirit of Mining with Heart. “This event also serves as an educational platform for mining students and the public to understand the unique characteristics of the Gosowong Gold Mine. For example, the Kencana Underground Mine is known for its extremely fragile rock textures with high economic value, as well as the presence of natural hot springs within the Toguraci Underground Mine,” he explained.

NHM’s participation in Minerba Convex 2025 further reinforces its role as an integral part of Indonesia’s evolving mining ecosystem. Through collaboration, innovation, and information transparency, NHM continues to bridge the gap between the industrial sector and the public, especially younger generations to enhance understanding of the strategic role of mining in advancing Indonesia’s sustainable development.
