NHM Peduli continues to support the Maluku Utara Provincial Government’s housing and social welfare programs through concrete community initiatives. Ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebrations, NHM Peduli officially inaugurated and handed over the keys to a newly renovated, livable home for Mrs. Yuli Meki (69), a widow who lives with and cares for her two grandchildren in Pediwang Village, Kao Utara Subdistrict.

Following an assessment by the NHM Peduli team, Mrs. Yuli’s previous home was found to be in unsafe and uninhabitable condition. Through the Home Renovation Program, NHM Peduli provided assistance to ensure the family now has a safer and healthier living environment. This initiative supports the Maluku Utara Provincial Government’s affordable housing program and aligns with the national development agenda focused on equitable welfare and social justice.

The key handover ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, and was attended by the Head of NHM’s Sustainable Development Division, M. Irwan Malaka; the NHM Peduli team; representatives of the Kao Utara Subdistrict Government, including Mince Pelo, Head of the Personnel Subdivision; the Head of Pediwang Village, Dorteis B. Tobeoto; members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD); religious leaders; and community representatives. The house is now ready to be occupied by Mrs. Yuli and her grandchildren, whom she has been raising since the passing of their father and their mother’s remarriage.

Mrs. Yuli’s home is the 155th unit renovated through the NHM Peduli Home Renovation Program, which has been implemented since 2021 across 83 villages surrounding the mining area. This milestone reflects NHM’s continued commitment to promoting sustainable social development and expanding positive impact within local communities.

Irwan Malaka expressed his appreciation for the dedication and teamwork shown by the NHM Peduli team in completing the renovation on schedule.

“We sincerely appreciate the dedication of the entire NHM Peduli team, who worked with genuine care. Thanks to this collaboration, Mrs. Yuli and her family are now able to celebrate Christmas in their new home,” Irwan said.

He added that the home is expected to provide greater safety and comfort for the family.

“Through this program, we hope this house becomes a safe, comfortable, and dignified place to live for Mrs. Yuli and her grandchildren. We believe this is a blessing, a Christmas gift for 2025 and a New Year’s gift for 2026 for her family,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Pediwang Village, Dorteis B. Tobeoto, expressed his gratitude for NHM Peduli’s continued support of local communities.

“We thank NHM, especially Mr. Haji Robert, for this meaningful program. It has been a great help for our community,” he said.

Mrs. Yuli and her grandchildren welcomed their new home with deep gratitude and emotion. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to NHM and Haji Robert Nitiyudo Wachjo for providing her family with a better place to live.

“Thank you, NHM and Mr. Haji Robert,” she said.

The NHM Peduli Home Renovation Program was established to help families obtain safer, healthier, and more dignified housing. Looking ahead to 2026, NHM hopes to continue expanding this initiative to reach more families in need, in line with government efforts to improve community welfare and quality of life.
