NHM Promotes Open Conversations on Mental Health in the Workplace
As part of its National Occupational Safety and Health Month (BK3N) program, PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) hosted a Mental Health Seminar to encourage greater awareness and open dialogue around psychological well-being in the workplace.
The session, held on January 27 at Bar Two Rivers in Gosowong, featured psychologist Edlin Juliani Pris, S.Psi., M.Si., M.Psi., from Ternate as the keynote speaker. Under the theme “Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace: The Path to Well-Being and Success,” the seminar brought together employee representatives for an interactive discussion on managing stress and maintaining emotional resilience at work.
Opening the event, Denny Lesmana, General Manager of Geology, Resources & Support – Project & Planning, emphasized that mental health is a fundamental part of workplace safety.

“Managing stress and maintaining emotional balance are essential for every employee. A supportive, safe, and healthy work environment allows people to perform at their best with greater productivity, creativity, and confidence,” he said. He also encouraged employees to speak openly with their supervisors whenever they need support.
Throughout the session, Edlin Juliani discussed the growing importance of workplace mental health, including common stress triggers, the impact of unmanaged mental strain, and practical ways to recognize and address early signs of burnout or emotional distress. The seminar also created space for employees to ask questions and share concerns in a safe environment.
Participants actively engaged in the discussion. Teguh Suwondo from the Flight & Camp Department asked about effective relaxation techniques to manage work-related pressure, while Cindy Mayangsari Siden from the Health, Safety & Environment Department raised questions about handling manipulative individuals who may negatively influence mental well-being in professional and social settings.

The speaker addressed these questions in detail, offering practical guidance that participants could apply in their daily routines and share with colleagues.
Representing the 2026 BK3N Committee, Rohman Sukatma expressed appreciation for the strong engagement shown during the session.
“We hope this seminar increases awareness about managing stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges, while also encouraging employees to seek support when needed. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to organizing this important discussion,” he said.
Through initiatives like this, NHM continues to reinforce that occupational safety is not only about physical protection but also about nurturing mental well-being as part of a healthy and productive workplace culture.
