NHM Cares Supports North Halmahera Brain Tumor Patient Through Treatment to Recovery

PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) has once again demonstrated its social commitment through the NHM Cares program, this time by supporting Gadis Tansy Adiba, a resident of Togawa Village, North Halmahera, throughout her brain tumor treatment. The assistance was initiated following a request from the Regent of North Halmahera and reflects strong collaboration between NHM and the North Halmahera Regional Government to ensure that residents in need can access quality healthcare.

Over more than three months, from January to April 2026, NHM facilitated the patient’s logistical needs, covering accommodation and transportation. Working closely with NHM Cares’ accompanying physician, Dr. Syamsul Bahri, the team coordinated a smooth referral process from Manado to Jakarta, allowing the family to focus entirely on Gadis’s recovery.

Gadis began her medical journey at Tobelo Regional Hospital before being referred to Sentra Medika Hospital in Manado for further treatment, then to Tzu Chi Hospital for follow-up care. Following subsequent evaluations, she was referred to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta for specialized neurosurgical care. After showing significant improvement, she has since returned home.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Gadis’s parents, Adhitya Noerul and Berka Lobiua, expressed deep gratitude for the comprehensive support they received throughout the process.

“We are sincerely grateful to NHM for being with us from start to finish. The transportation and accommodation assistance ensured that the entire treatment process outside our region went smoothly and without major difficulties, they said.”

The family also conveyed their appreciation to NHM President Director Haji Robert Nitiyudo Wachjo for his personal care and support during Gadis’s recovery, describing the assistance and attention provided as invaluable in easing their burden through a difficult time.

Although Gadis has been discharged, she is scheduled for follow-up MRI examinations at RSCM within the next three months to monitor her condition. Through the NHM Peduli program, NHM remains committed to providing continued support until her recovery is complete. This ongoing assistance is intended to encourage Gadis and her family while reaffirming NHM’s commitment to improving healthcare access for communities in the region.
